Community Engagement

Police Department

The Williston Police Department is devoted to creating and maintaining strong relationships of mutual trust between law enforcement and the community we serve. The WPD believes these relationships are critical to maintaining public safety and effective policing.

As a part of Community Engagement, we hope to educate the public in several areas while involving the members of the community in various activities. The WPD seeks an open relationship with the community as we realize most interaction with officers is in the nature of enforcement activities. We want to break the negative connotation that can be associated with law enforcement and reach out to kids to embrace that relationship of trust and safety early on.

Some of the current programs involving Community Engagement include:
  • Alcohol Server Training
  • Alcohol and Tobacco Compliance Checks
  • Bank Robbery Training
  • Safety Talks
  • Counter Act
  • National Night Out
  • Coffee with a Cop
  • Seatbelt Safety
  • Christmas for Kids
  • And many more!
We also enjoy partnering with local businesses to provide education on various topics, as requested.
